Recreational vs Competitive Classes

We offer TONS of recreational classes for dancers of all ages. Our recreational classes are weekly classes with NO extra practices throughout the dance season. All recreational classes can be found on our schedule without an * beside the class name. Only classes with an * beside the name are a part of our competitive program all classes without an * are part of our recreational program. All recreational classes are also labeled predance, preschool, multilevel, level 1, level 2, etc. all classes labeled mini, junior, elite, and/or diamond are a part of our competitive program so it's very easy to distinguish between the two programs when viewing the schedule. 


Registration for ALL students begins in August!

For those dancers interested in a little bit more we do offer a competitive class option. We offer solos, duos, and trios to any student who would like to participate. These elective dances may be taken to competition if the dancer wishes. We offer five to six competitions a year for students to participate in. One of these competitions is a national qualifier. If the student qualifies for nationals, then they may compete at nationals throughout the summer. 

The 2017-2018 dance season was our first season to allow competitive classes! This was a HUGE success! Our first year went so well we expanded the competitive classes offered for our second season! We are thrilled with how our competitive teams have gone thus far and we would LOVE for you to join! 

This competitive option allows dancers to expand their performance skills and reap the rewards of their hard work!  We hope you would consider trying one of our competitive options. Below are the competitive classes we will be offering for the 2024-2025 season...

  • Acro (Required: Level 3+ in tumbling)
  • Production (required for all SCDC students)


Our first tryouts for our 2024-2025 season was held on July 14th.


Our LAST TRYOUT for our 2024-2025 season will be held on

Thursday, August 1st from 7-8pm for ALL ages.
